Award winning decorator, Barbara Evans, will wow you and your guests with a beautiful wedding cake creation. Exclusively creating custom designed wedding cakes since 1981, the Wedding Cake Connection specializes in both buttercream and fondant icings.
Consultations are by appointment, usually Monday thru Thursday, daytime or evening and some weekends in the winter months. At this meeting we will design a custom cake for your special day. You can look through our album and/ or bring pictures with design ideas. A wide variety of decorating techniques are available including buttercream or rolled fondant icing, hand made flowers, pearls, fondant draping and bows. At the consultation you will be provided with a cake sample. A written quote will be provided. Most couples are able to complete the design in one meeting. Prices and dates are guaranteed upon the receipt of deposit.
A $75 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date. This deposit also serves as an equipment deposit and is refunded upon the return of the clean equipment within 3 days of the wedding. Final payment is due 30 days prior to the wedding. A $300 minimum order is required. Provision for exclusivity: If the Cake Connection is providing the cake for the wedding, all cake served at the event must be provided by the Cake Connection. This is to ensure all of your guests enjoy the high quality the Cake Connection provides.
All wedding cakes are delivered and set up. Prices include delivery and set up in Peoria area (see delivery area). A $10 delivery fee is charged for cakes that must be delivered 2:00PM or after. A $20 delivery fee applies to deliveries to the Wildlife Observation Deck.
The Cake Connection can provide handmade sugar flowers or your florist may provide fresh flowers. There is no charge for The Cake Connection to place the florist flowers on the cake.
The Cake Connections is located approximately 15 minutes north of Peoria off of Rt. 40.
The Cake Connection is a licensed food establishment by the Peoria County Health Department.
